Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 26, 2026
App name: PromoCodes
Welcome to PromoCodes (“the App”). We respect your privacy. This policy explains how the App collects, uses, stores, and synchronizes information related to you.
1. Information we process
The App helps you manage App Store promo codes and related app information on your device, and—when you choose to use them—features such as publishing to a shared catalog and browsing that catalog (“plaza”). This may include:
- Information you enter or paste, such as App Store links or app IDs, promo code text, and the subject/body of email you start through “Contact or feedback” (handled by the system Mail app).
- On-device records: App name, store page URL, artwork URL, identifiers and states related to promo codes (for example whether a code is marked used and timestamps) may be saved in a plist file inside the app sandbox for display and management inside the App.
- Public App Store metadata: When you add an app via an App Store link, or when the App enriches UI such as the plaza or detail screens, the App may call Apple’s public APIs (such as iTunes Search / Lookup) for fields that are already public on the App Store, such as name, artwork URL, genre/category, rating, version, and price, to display in lists or details.
- Optional content you publish to the cloud: When you use publish-related features and your device is signed into iCloud, the App may write data to Apple iCloud CloudKit in the public database. Typical fields include app name, App Store product page URL, artwork URL, App Store track ID, promo code strings, per-code used state and timestamps, and aggregate counts used for display or ordering. This enables other users to browse the plaza. We do not operate our own centralized backend to replace CloudKit for this published data.
2. How information is stored and synced
- On-device storage: Your app list and promo codes that are not published (or that are only mirrored locally) are primarily stored on your device. Uninstalling the App or deleting local data removes the plist contents except where the OS may retain its own caches.
- iCloud / CloudKit (provided by Apple): After you publish, related records are hosted by Apple’s CloudKit service. Other users who are signed into iCloud and use the App may see the app information and promo codes within the scope you published (possibly shown in masked or summarized form in the UI). You can use in-app controls to delete published content, which removes the corresponding cloud records (subject to CloudKit and network conditions).
- We cannot access your Apple ID password; iCloud account status is managed by the system and Apple. If iCloud is unavailable, cloud-dependent features may not work.
3. Network and third parties
- Apple iTunes Search / Lookup: Used to resolve or enrich public App Store metadata, subject to Apple’s applicable terms.
- Apple iCloud / CloudKit: Used for optional publishing and plaza reads/writes; retention and processing are also governed by Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit policies.
- System Share: When you use the iOS Share sheet, destination apps and their policies govern what happens next; the App does not control those services.
4. Permissions
Most core features do not require sensitive permissions such as contacts, photo library, or location. Cloud-dependent features require you to be signed into a usable iCloud account on the device; this capability is provided by the system and is not the same as a standalone “contacts-style” permission prompt from the App. If a future version needs additional permissions, we will explain the purpose before use.
5. Minors
If you are a minor, please read this policy and use the App with guidance from a parent or guardian. Do not publish or share content that should not be broadly distributed.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be shown inside the App; please review it periodically.
7. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy, you can reach us through “Contact or feedback” in the App’s Settings.
This policy applies only to PromoCodes. When you use the App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, WeChat, or other third-party services, please also read those platforms’ privacy policies.
